Over the years, I’ve had many people say to me when speaking about my various businesses, “Well that’s your baby.” Well, yes and no. Like a child, the business needs to be “born,” at some point. However, once it is, emotion needs to be largely kept seperate from the business. The simple fact is, no one but your spouse cares that you’ve “put your heart and soul and your life savings” into your new business venture. Your own kids won’t even care (until there’s no food on the table) and your potential investors definitely won’t care. Your new venture is nothing more than a vehicle to move currency throughout the economy, end of story. Good luck, stay focused, stay driven, stay positive.
